Maseratis tend to be all-singing, all-dancing luxury vehicles, but do they come with Apple CarPlay?
Maserati offers Apple CarPlay on all of their vehicles, including the Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte. They explain that it pairs seamlessly with their in-car infotainment offerings, particularly their high-quality displays and speaker systems.
Read on to learn more about Maserati and the amenities they include with their luxury vehicles.
Making Maserati
If there’s one thing Italy is famous for, it’s their long legacy and string of successes with car manufacturing. There have been countless companies pouring out of Italy in the last century, bringing with them a string of high-powered, high-performance motor vehicles.
There’s Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Alfa Romeo, and of course, Maserati, to name a few. These brands are at the top of their game and have been popular among motoring fans for many decades.
Maserati first appeared over one hundred years ago, in 1914. Like many Italian manufacturers, they cut their teeth in motor racing, spending many years building and competing in their high-powered models.
However, around a decade after the company was founded, they started building on their identity, fleshing out the Maserati marque.
Although there would be struggles throughout the twentieth century, Maserati remained strong as the years wore on. They were forced to wind down production while World War II took place, and instead started manufacturing parts and vehicles to support the Italian war effort.
Reportedly, they were even working on an exclusive and dramatically powerful V12 car for Benito Mussolini, the Italian dictator. Once the war ended, Maserati returned to their former pursuits, building road cars once again.
As the decades wore on, Maserati saw continued success, particularly from the sixties to the eighties. They released a string of models that would come to persevere, such as the 1963 Quattroporte and the 1967 Ghibli.
These models still exist today, having been subject to countless innovations at the hands of Maserati’s engineers. While they’re not the biggest sellers where quantity is concerned, they are incredibly popular in their own right.
Exquisite, Efficient, Equipped
By 2020, Maserati had a successful line-up of cars – a small line-up, but a popular one nonetheless. The roster consisted of the saloons, the Quattroporte and Ghibli, the Levante, an SUV, and two soon-to-be-released models, the MC20 and Alfieri.
Their SUV model was only introduced in 2016, an offering from Maserati to rival the boom in similar models. It was built to compete with the likes of the Lamborghini Urus, the Tesla Model X, the Porsche Cayenne, and Ranger Rover Sport.
It seemed that as time went on, people required bigger vehicles, and these top-tier manufacturers were all too happy to answer the call. The Levante ticked all the boxes – it was expansive, luxurious, and extremely well equipped.
In fact, Maserati’s entire roster comes with a high specification throughout. They’re built for comfort and practicality just as much as they are speed, performance, and road presence.
Inside every Maserati, you’ll find features like Apple CarPlay, sophisticated air conditioning systems, surround sound speakers, and sumptuous materials. The interior of the Levante, in particular, is intensely well-designed, with soft leather and carbon fiber being present throughout.
At its highest level, the Maserati Levante will cost you just over one hundred and fifty thousand dollars, brand new. That’s for the Levante Trofeo, which is a V8 vehicle producing 580 horsepower, capable of zipping from zero to sixty in under four seconds.
Fight For Excellence
Maserati might have seen considerable success since their inception, but they’re by no means without competition. The motor vehicle industry is a dog eat dog world, and there’s a constant battle for innovation and leaps in engineering and performance.
Their biggest competitors tend to be high-quality German brands, such as Audi, Porsche, and BMW. Any one of these three manufacturers dwarfs Maserati in their total revenue figures, but Maserati itself is still worth as much as eight billion dollars.
Maserati had also put forward two new vehicles to contend with the heavy competition, including a two-door sports car, the MC20. It was one of Maserati’s most ambitious builds yet, boasting a 3.0-liter V6 engine, capable of producing over six hundred horsepower.
It’s an impressive car with a stunning style, but it does come with a sizeable price tag. If you’d like to sample Maserati’s most powerful offering, you’ll need to part ways with a quarter of a million dollars.
