Lamborghinis can be considered the créme de la créme of production supercars, but do they come with cupholders?
Traditionally, Lamborghini’s cars do not come equipped with cupholders. However, out of their 2020 line-up, there was one car that did offer cupholders – the Lamborghini Urus. This SUV beat the Huracan and Aventador on internal space and storage by miles and came with two standard cupholders.
Read on to learn more about Lamborghini and what their vehicles come with.
It’s The Little Things That Matter
In 2020, Lamborghini revealed their pièce de résistance in the line-up for their celebrated hypercar, the Lamborghini Aventador. The SVJ Roadster was the swan song for the near-ended Aventador line, and it was a hell of a send-off.
The SVJ was an expert example of Lamborghini’s masterful craftsmanship. It was sleek, mean-looking, and extremely powerful.
Under the hood sat an enormous 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of producing almost eight-hundred horsepower. Its top speed exceeded two-hundred miles-per-hour, a figure it coasted to with ease.
There were critics who described the car as ‘blisteringly fast’, with a zero-to-sixty reading in less than three seconds. In simple terms, it was an engineering marvel, a new benchmark in the hypercar market, and a massive investment for collectors and fans alike.
If you were to buy the Aventador SVJ brand new, you’d be spending more than half a million dollars. That’s before you purchased any customization or optional extras, of course.
But for all its bravado, road presence, and speed, the Aventador SVJ missed one home comfort that aids many drivers. It didn’t come with cupholders.
In fact, it was basically stripped bare of any real form of storage, save for a tiny trunk. After all, a Lamborghini isn’t built for day-to-day cruising or a trip to the grocery store, so maybe these items were insignificant.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Lamborghini’s cars do not come with cupholders, and only aftermarket options can be used.
All The Small Things
However, their 2020 Lamborghini Huracan came with an option to add cupholders as part of an exclusive package. Although, that’s on top of the quarter-million asking price that’s already in place.
It’s only their Urus model that comes with cupholders as standard. The Urus, revealed in 2012 and released in 2018, is a versatile and luxurious SUV model.
It’s not Lamborghini’s first SUV but it certainly is their best. Their first attempt was with the LM002, a utilitarian and heavy SUV, built in a ‘Humvee’ styled image.
The Urus is a much more pleasant example, boasting a sleek aesthetic and super-powered engine. It’s rated as one of the fastest SUVs in history and is built with a sumptuous interior.
There’s lashing of passenger space around the soft leather ‘captain’ seats and ample storage throughout. These seats are all heated and ventilated and come with individual position controls as standard.
All the glass around the vehicle is heated and soundproof, there are three digital displays, and the windshield senses rain and temperatures. At any point, you can obtain all manner of information on your car, such as its range, altitude, angle, weight, and tire pressure.
It quite happily sits at the top of the luxury SUV line that exists in the market today, with a price tag of around $218,000.
A Little Competition
However, the Urus isn’t alone in those rankings. There are a few competitors that have little issue with giving the Urus a run for its money.
For example, there’s the German offerings: the BMW X6, Audi Q8, Porsche Cayenne, and Mercedes AMG GLE. These cars are behemoths in their own right and have a seriously intense road presence.
They’re also dramatically cheaper than the exorbitant Lamborghini Urus, which relies mostly on its brand name to drive the cost up.
If you wanted to drive around in the BMW X6, you can do so for as little as sixty-four thousand dollars. However, if Audi is more your style, you can pick up their enormous Q8 for around sixty-seven thousand dollars.
You could take the sportier option and choose the Porsche Cayenne, which will cost you just over sixty-five thousand dollars.
Or, the most affordable model of them all, the Mercedes AMG GLE. This luxurious SUV starts at just fifty-five thousand dollars and still boasts a huge engine and sumptuous interior.
It’s up to the driver which brand they ultimately prefer, of course.
