When Elon Musk was boasting about the capabilities of his new Tesla Roadster in 2019, he claimed it was capable of traveling from zero to sixty miles-per-hour in less than two seconds. In actual fact, the accurate figure was 1.9 seconds, half a second faster than a Lamborghini Aventador.
It stands as a remarkably impressive figure, with this pinnacle of Tesla’s offerings beating out many more modern-day supercars in terms of acceleration. Furthermore, the Tesla Roadster, known as the second-generation model, boasts a top speed of around two hundred and fifty miles-per-hour.
Although, the capabilities of this stunning car certainly do not end there, with Tesla claiming the Roadster can travel for six hundred miles on a single, full charge. It’s an unheard-of figure where all-electric vehicles are concerned, and it could completely disrupt the entire industry.
Where electric vehicles are concerned, Tesla is the reigning champion, and the California-based company is constantly innovating. The Tesla Roadster is the latest in a long line of successes for the company, which has grown remarkably fast since the first Roadster launched in 2008.
However, after a brief stint in business, the Roadster was retired to make room for a more diverse range of vehicles. In 2012, production ceased, and the Roadster became a fond but ever-distant memory for vehicle aficionados.

By 2021, the stage was set and fans and critics alike were eagerly awaiting the heavily-marketed second-generation Tesla Roadster. It had finally been officially confirmed, the specification was out there, and Tesla had announced that production would commence in 2022.
Elon Musk was loving the publicity and attention, taking the opportunity to stress his eccentricity and claim that the Roadster would come with rocket boosters, among other things. In 2020, he became the world’s richest person for a brief period of time, boosting the image of Tesla to impossible heights.
There are no manufacturers making the leaps that Tesla is where electric vehicles are concerned, although many are certainly trying. Since its emergence into the industry, Tesla has been gathering some strong competition from some of the world’s most prominent car companies.
However, there are plenty who revel in the opinion that these companies are all playing catch-up, and nobody can truly match the engineering prowess of Tesla. From SpaceX to Tesla, and from PayPal to The Boring Company, if there’s one thing Elon Musk does well, it’s innovation and creation.

When a Lamborghini Aventador starts at around four hundred thousand dollars, it’s almost a no-brainer. The Tesla Roadster has a faster 0-60 speed, a higher top speed, and costs half the price.
